Car Sales May Soon Mean Something Different

Ready to be inundated with more ads?

As we approach the age of self-driving cars some tech companies want to make sure you are always made aware of your surroundings, kinda.

Auto-tech firm in Santa Clara called Telenav has announced an "in-car advertising platform" for internet connected cars.

The technology involved uses consumer behavior and location, as well as other information, to show relevant ads while the vehicle is stopped (on start up, traffic lights, when a destination has been reached).

Going hiking? Bug spray coupons may appear on your dashboard. On the way home, at the stop light next to the pizza place you might get pizza coupons, or as you arrive at the mall you may see sales or receive more coupons.

I don't think I'm ready for this brave new world.
