Former Birchwood Pastor Gets Probation

The former Birchwood pastor convicted of breaking into church members homes and stealing prescription pain pills has been sentenced in Barron and Washburn Counties.

Jon Paquette was in court this week for the sentencing hearing, when the court heard from victims who were targeted when he knew the victims were away from home.

Paquette was possible facing jail time, but the courts in both counties stayed the sentences and instead placed him on probation for up to three years.

Paquette was also ordered to pay restitution to his victims, perform community service and write letters of apology.

Paquette will be monitored under the supervision of the Department of Corrections.
