16 Year Old Dies After Suffering Injuries In Traffic Crash

 A teenage girl has died from injuries suffered in a traffic crash in Richmond Township, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff. The crash happened just after 3 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of  St. Croix County Road G and 140th Street. 

Sheriff Knudson says 16-year-old Megan Bennig of New Richmond was going southbound on 140th Street when she entered the intersection and was hit by semi driven by 19-year-old Weston Gray of Centuria.

Bennig died from her injuries. Gray was not hurt.  

Grief counselors along with the sheriff’s office chaplain will be in attendance this morning at the high school starting to help students during cope with the loss.
